Mother’s Day brings out a lot of sappy sentiments. Now, we’re not saying Mom isn’t great and worthy of mountains of praise. What we are saying is that most of those Mother’s Day cards on display at the grocery store are certifiably gag-inducing.
Fortunately, even if you feel like you have to get one of those cornball greeting cards, there’s no rule against adding your own snarky touch. That could mean scribbling something irreverent inside the card, sharing a funny ecard on social media, or just sending a text “thanking” your mom in your own way. Whether Mom shares your twisted sense of humor or not, she should at least appreciate that the message sounds like you.
