Pumpkin Carving Party Invitation Wording
Nothing symbolizes Halloween like the gap-toothed grin of a jack o’ lantern. Dating back hundreds of years to Ireland, pumpkin carving continues to be an annual ritual in many households. And like most holiday traditions, it’s most enjoyable when you share it with friends and family.
So there’s your rationale for throwing a pumpkin carving party this Halloween. Now you just need a plan. While there are lots of details to tend to when hosting a pumpkin party (or any party, for that matter), one of your first priorities is to send out invitations.
You can always buy predesigned paper invitations, but many people choose to save money and/or time by making their own electronic or handmade invites. If you’re going the do-it-yourself route, this article is for you. It includes ideas, advice, and specific examples to help you come up with the perfect invitation wording for your pumpkin carving party.
Wording Samples
Here are some examples of pumpkin party invitation wording that you can use for your own invites, or just read through for inspiration. Pumpkin Carving Invite Tips
A jack o’ lantern party isn’t so different than other types of parties when it comes to invitation wording. There are just a few particulars to keep in mind:
1. Is it B.Y.O.P. (Bring Your Own Pumpkin)? Your invitees need to know whether they should bring their own pumpkins, or whether you’ll be providing them. Ditto for carving tools. If you don’t include this information on the invites, you’re going get asked about it over and over.
2. Let people know if it’s a contest. If it’s a pumpkin carving contest with prizes, that’s important information to include on your invites. The prospect of winning prizes gets people (kids, in particular) more excited to attend.
3. Send your invitations early. If you’re aiming for a weekend in October, you’ll want to make sure you get your invites out with plenty of time for RSVPs. As with other holiday parties such as cookie exchanges and Easter egg hunts, people might have limited space on their calendars at such a busy time of the year.
